Software support for alarm security system design
Kutnar, Václav ; Zeman, Václav (referee) ; Burda, Karel (advisor)
Intrusion alarm systems are an important part of quality security of residential, commercial, and other types of buildings. It is necessary to sufficiently and broadly asses the object and its surroundings. This bachelor's thesis proposes a methodology that should help with this designer. The thesis first discusses the general procedure of system design, relevant standards, then the elements of mechanical security of buildings, and burglary statistics in the Czech Republic. Based on this information, a methodology is then developed and software implemented, which, based on the entered information, will provide the designer with information important for the quality design of the system. These include possible object vulnerabilities, potential intrusions, the security level of the system, and more.

Criminality in the Czech Repulic
Doležalová, Barbora ; Cahlík, Tomáš (advisor) ; Palanská, Tereza (referee)
This thesis aims to analyze factors influencing crime rate in the Czech Republic. From time immemorial, crime rate has been a part of our society and its impacts do not influence only its victims but the whole economy as well. The main contribution of this thesis is an econometric analysis of the most recent panel data of Czech counties from 2010 to 2017. Thanks to this dataset we identified factors and their significances. For more accurate results we also examined factors influencing particular crimes - robbery, burglary, rape and murder. By analysis we found out that unemployment rate is significant factor, however, this factor has negative relationship with crime rate. This relationship can be described that by increasing unemployment rate people more care about their belongings, hence, it is harder for criminals to commit a crime. Positive and significant relationship was found between unemployment and robbery. Furthermore, results show that the percentage of foreigners is positively significant to burglary and rape. Therefore, it is important to focus on integration of foreigners into our society. Moreover, income inequality is positively significant in a rape model and the deterrence is positively significant as well in a crime rate model.
Selected Criminal Thinking Conceptions in Offenders
Faridová, Petra ; Boukalová, Hedvika (advisor) ; Gillernová, Ilona (referee)
Criminal thinking or attitudes constitute a concept that has received considerable research attention in foreign countries especially because of its proven relationship to antisocial behavior and potential for changing it through elimination of these attitudes (e.g. Blud et al., 2003; Henning & Frueh, 1996; Walters, 2005c). Nevertheless criminal thinking still remains almost undescribed in the Czech Republic. The present work is investigating criminal thinking on a sample of 202 offenders currently imprisoned for robbery or burglary. The primary method used was the Czech version of American self-report inventory titled "Psychological Inventory of Criminal Thinking Styles". The Czech version was developed in the Institute of Criminology and Social Prevention (Blatníková, Faridová, & Zeman, manuscript in preparation). This thesis was implemented under auspices of the Institute. The data suggest specifically highlighted sentimental style of thinking in our research sample. Positive correlation between intensity of criminal thinking and serious criminal history was demonstrated as well as the decline of intensity with increasing age and educational attainment. The strengths and weaknesses of our research, experiences with method, its possible applications and numerous suggestions for follow-up...
